Castle of Manzanares - Spain


Castle of Manzanares is a Gothic Style Castle built in 15th Century built by Juan Guas one of the Catholic Kings favorite Architect. This Castle stands in the foot of Sierra de Guadarrama. The major part of the Castle is the Towers which covers the Castle from the four corners. Three of the these towers are cylindrical in shape and rest one is a primary tower which is square in shape. An interesting fact about this Castle is, Some of the Old Castle parts were used in constructing this Castle. The Building is half castle and half palace. From 17th Century this Castle is taken by a married couple Don Pedro Zúñiga y Salcedo and Doña Isabel Asensio.
Many Film makers and movie creators are got inspired by this Robust Castle ! and international movies like Alejandro Magno (1956), El Cid (1961), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) and Conan the Barbarian (1981) were made here.
